After working in concert with the New Orleans City Council and commissioning a Best Practice Study of Municipal Recreation Departments, Partnership for Youth Development collaborated with community leadership and various stakeholders to help establish the NORD Citizens Advisory Panel (NORDcap). NORDcap put together a report on their recommendations, which is available here.
The NORD Citizens Advisory Panel, a diverse group of business, community and neighborhood leaders, provided a grand vision for the NORD that was instrumental in the creation of the New Orleans Recreation Commission. The Commission is now a functioning public and private partnership that is designed to give our children and youth the high quality recreation opportunities they deserve.
